View Our COVID-19 Hygiene Protocols

We are glad to welcome visitors to Deerhill Inn for the Winter Season!

Safety

The Covid-19 caseload in Vermont continues to be amongst the lowest in the US - you can find more information on Vermont's Department of Health COVID-19 Dashboard. Mask wearing and social distancing are mandatory, and to keep our Guests safe and comfortable we have an extensive hygiene program at the Inn. Because the COVID-19 caseload remains higher in other areas, Vermont has travel restrictions on visitors entering the State - you can find out more about Vermont's travel restrictions.

Visiting Vermont

There is currently no official program in place in Vermont to enforce the travel restrictions. However, when you make your booking we will forward you a short Compliance Statement, and ask you to complete and return it to us on the day you arrive. We do not have to submit this Statement to any authority, but we must keep it on file for 30 days (just in case it is needed for contact tracing) and then we may destroy it. Local Restaurants will ask for an address and a contact number. Mask wearing is mandatory in all public areas where social distancing cannot be guaranteed. If you would like further information or to discuss these requirements, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Staying at Deerhill Inn

Most of our Guestrooms have alternative outside access, and your visit can be completely contactless if you prefer - let us know if you would like more details. Our full cooked-to-order Country Breakfast is offered in the usual way, in our Dining Room or in your guestroom if you prefer. However, the Deerhill Inn Restaurant is not currently offering Dinner service. Many of our local restaurants are open for both inside dining and take-out. If you prefer not to leave the Inn, we are happy to place and collect your take-out order to eat in our Dining Room or in your guestroom. During your stay, there are plenty of activities and things to do in our area of Vermont.

You can make a booking on our website - or if you prefer call us on 802-464-3100 or email us at innkeeper@deerhill.com.

We hope you and your families and colleagues continue to be well and safe, and are able to visit us soon up here in peaceful Vermont!

Escape to Deerhill Inn

Crisp mornings, cool sunny days and cozy nights with bright stars - Fall has come to Deerhill Inn! Rest and recharge, hike through our woods or drive in our beautiful countryside. Leave the outside world behind and enjoy red, green and gold Fall Foliage in our hillsides and pastures.

On a peaceful hillside just above the historic village of West Dover, Deerhill Inn looks out across the tree-clad slopes of the Deerfield Valley towards Vermont's Green Mountains and the ski runs of Mount Snow and Haystack Mountain.

It's the perfect place to relax - Vermont's clear air and peaceful countryside are soothing and calm, taking you back to another, gentler time - and the Inn is a warm, cozy, inviting sanctuary. Or celebrate a special day - or a special person - with a selection of beautiful and unique guestrooms and a choice of treats and indulgences to make everyone feel romantic and cared-for.

Fall offers sweeping vistas of hillsides covered with brightly-colored Foliage, changing daily. Once you've recharged and are ready for a new experience, there's plenty to do exploring Vermont's woods and farms on quiet country roads, tasting cheese, wine, beer and cider, picking apples and visiting welcoming small towns with craft, art and antique shops, galleries and great local restaurants. Hike a local trail, or ride the lift to the summit of Mount Snow for breathtaking views.

In winter Southern Vermont becomes a playground, with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, dog-sledding and snowmobiling all near the Inn. With Mount Snow base lodge just seven minutes away, some of the best downhill skiing in the East is right on the doorstep. If you'd prefer something calmer, take a peaceful sleigh-ride through snow-covered trees, in a red Vermont sleigh behind a fine pair of perfectly-matched black Frisians. Or just enjoy the twinkling stars above the snowy hills and the bright sunshine and blue skies of a perfect winter day.

Spring and summer bring sparkling new green to the hillsides, with hiking through the woods and biking or driving past farms with contented cows enjoying the new pasture and pretty villages with quaint little shops to browse. Galleries, museums and historic houses open for the season, together with our two international-class golf courses. Nearby lakes offer water sports, take a guided fishing trip on the Deerfield River, or try horseback riding or a carriage drive.

However you spend your days, your beautifully-decorated guestroom will be waiting for you when you come home. Each room or suite is unique, cozy and welcoming with luxury robes and fine bed linens, L'Occitane amenities, coffee and tea makers and fast, free Wi-fi. With Mountain views or private decks, many rooms have jetted tubs, rainforest showers, fireplaces and TV/DVD players to make your stay extra-special.

Curl up in beside the fireplace in your guestroom wrapped in a soft robe after a soak in your own deep jetted tub, nibble on chocolate chip cookies, sip a glass of wine or a cocktail and forget the outside world for a little while. Sleep deeply in your comfy bed and in the morning, enjoy our à la carte Country Breakfast, in our Dining Rooms with their beautiful views of the tree-covered Green Mountains or privately in your own guestroom.

But above all, whenever you come and whatever you do you are always warmly welcome, in our own home in Vermont's unique and lovely Green Mountains. Come and see us soon!

Staying at Deerhill Inn

What makes our Inn special? Deerhill Inn is one of the few remaining luxury Vermont retreats not owned by an out-of-State corporation.
Learn more about staying with us ...
Owners Scott and Ariane live at the Inn and you'll feel welcomed to our home with the reassurance of knowing there is always someone to help with whatever you need - but never, ever feel intruded upon. In Winter we'll light a log fire for you so you can curl up and be cozy, in Summer we'll carry your cocktail out to the Pool while you stretch out in Vermont's gentle sunshine. Our Inn is not smart or sleek, but it's not full of doilies and frilly pillows either. If you enjoy an English Country House atmosphere of antique furniture, pretty fabrics, modern amenities and warm and unobtrusive service, you'll be comfortable and happy here.
